Quick And Easy Changes To Make When Selling Your Home

Create a Nice Entry

Most people don't like stepping from the door right into the living room; they like to see a transition space. By rearranging furniture or adding coat hooks, you could create that transition space buyers are looking for.


Paint

The easiest and cheapest way to get you home buyer ready is simply to paint. A fresh coat of paint will do wonders on how your home shows. It can make the house look larger and brighter and cleaner if you have walls that are dark, marked or stained. But it can also help to eliminate any lingering odors from pets, cooking and smoking. If you have a newer home, take the time to upgrade those standard developer fixtures with a step above. You will be sure to help the kitchen and bathroom areas shine for potential buyers.

Luxury items like marble counters, whirlpool baths and steam showers up the attractiveness of any bathroom. But you don’t have to do major renovations to make your Baths more attractive to purchasers. Instead of costly luxury items address the unattractive aspects of your existing bath. Change out the big sheet mirror for a nicely framed mirror. Or if you are handy add a custom frame around it. Add new accessories, like decorative towels, baskets of soaps, cloth shower curtains that give a more luxurious feel.

Organized Closets
If your closets are unadorned, don't underestimate the importance of this easy addition. Just as stainless appliances make buyers believe they are better cooks, closet organizers make buyers believe that they are better homemakers. The idea of having a place for storing everything is a big motivator for many first-time home buyers. By making a small investment in upgrading your home with customized or built-in closet, kitchen or garage organizer systems, you will be offering added value and appeal to a wide range of buyers from the first-timer craving to have a clutter-free existence to buyers who are moving up into a family home and want each family member’s space to have the possibility of order.

Light Up 
Lighting is probably the most overlooked, yet the most important aspect of interior decoration. The reality is that everyone needs three types - task, ambient and decorative lighting - which allow you to change the mood of the room.  If your home doesn't have a lot of windows or get a lot of natural light, consider installing recessed lighting or new sconces, or both, so the buyer won't struggle to figure out how to brighten up the space.

Landscaping
With all your focus on the inside of the house it is important not to forget the outside. Give you home some quick curb appeal by sprucing up the front landscape. If you have grass make sure to keep it watered and green. Spend a few dollars on some new flowers and plants for the front. But don’t forget the ones you already have, do a quick pruning and rake up any leaves.  Create an inviting entryway with a fresh coat of pain and a few potted plants by the front door.
